Mái Ấm Hồng Ân (Hong An Orphanage) is a charity organisation run by Ms Vương Ngọc Sương and her family, providing residence, food and education for about 40 children.
The orphanage has been in existence for over 20 years with the main
location in Tay-Ninh having about 25 children, and a branch in
HoChiMinh City housing 11 children.
Despite being paralysed with both
legs due to an accident in her early life, Ms Vuong Ngoc Suong has
overcome all the odds in forming and running the orphanage with love,
dedication and determination.

Initial visit to Hong An Orphanage was made in early 2008 by VNF President, Dr Ly Gia Nhan. Subsequently VNF received a request for support in upgrading the orphanage in Tay-Ninh. Following a successful fund raising dinner in September 2008, VNF has allocated 104 million VND (about 7,500 AUD) towards renovating a classroom and a special area for disabled children; providing equipment in a classroom and bunk beds in the sleeping quarter; and providing facilities including pigs to produce biogas for cooking and heating.

In May 2009, our member re-visited the orphanage to check on progress and provide some assistance. A WordPress webpage was created to publicise the place - the link is as follows:
